Strapping Applications
 In
the lumber industry, ShurStrap is used for securing loads of plywood, OSB,
planking, mixed orders, etc. Pre-fabricated trusses, floor joists, panels. Use
ShurStrap to effectively unitize these types of loads for shipping and
off-loading purposes.
In industrial applications, ShurStrap is
used extensively for bundling PVC, copper and steel tubing. For unitizing
aluminum or paper rolls before shipment. For strapping carton boxes, heavy
parts, extrusions and for many temporary, internal processes that require tying,
unitizing/bundling of parts.
In shipping applications, ShurStrap is the
most efficient product for securing cargo inside railcars, trailer boxes or on
truck platforms. Especially for large cargo items such as boats, pallets, boxed
refrigerators, etc.
In
agriculture, ShurStrap is widely used and very effective in trees. It is
applied by tying branches for wind protection, eliminating the need to use
props. In horticulture, for plant support in tomato, cucumber and other
vegetable fields.
In the recycling industry, ShurStrap is
used for tying up bundles or bales of recyclable materials.
Other applications include bailing cotton,
synthetic fibers (i.e. nylon, polyester, acrylic), corrugated and other
materials that need to be bundled. It is great for tying protective tarpaulins
and shrink wrap or over anything that needs long outdoor covering.
Properties
- Strength: ShurStrap is
available in nominal break strength from 350 lbs. up to over 5.5 tons.
- Lightness: ShurStrap is easier
and safer to carry and handle.
- Elongation: Polyester filament's
nominal elongation modulus is 13%, allowing ShurStrap to contain
and sustain loads in extreme impact situations.
- Memory: Polyester filaments keep
"memory". ShurStrap will maintain strong tension in loads long
after applied.
- Flexibility: This property makes
ShurStrap a safer product to use. It flows easily around corners and
prevents damage to bands, cartons and pallets during its application.
- Disposability: ShurStrap is
soft, easily handled and disposed. It does not lash.
